Sherman Avenue Multi-Family

This project is a new multi-family residence on Sherman Avenue. It provides spacious and contemporary living arrangements, access to a private roof deck from the top floor apartment, parking spaces, and a large back yard.

The design of the Sherman Avenue project is site conscious. Abutting two developments, it mediates between them through roof-line alignments, and provides, through that, a visually continuous streetscape. Its varied facade animates the street by allowing an interplay of light and shadows, and a dichotomy of public display in the extruded bay window and sunken privacy in the recessed balconies. The bay window is an especially important component, as it turns itself towards a public park and a main intersection, connecting residents with the neighborhood.
